BRING YOUR OWN...

...bike, scooter, skateboard... whatever....

Within reason, just about any wheeled vehicle is allowed inside the park.  Please read below to make sure your choice of wheels qualifies.

To ensure a safe and enjoyable riding environment for all guests, all equipment entering the park must meet the following safety standards. Riders are responsible for ensuring that their gear is in proper working order prior to entry. Staff may inspect any equipment at any time.

Note that these policies may be updated at any time.

General Equipment Rules

  1. No Electric Vehicles

Electric or motor-assisted bicycles, scooters, skateboards, or similar powered devices are not permitted within the riding areas under any circumstances.

  2. No Training Wheels
Training wheels are not permitted on the terrain as they present a danger to the rider when not on flat surfaces.  Training wheels are acceptable on the flat concrete surface of the park only.

  3. Clean and Dry Condition

All equipment must be free of excessive dirt, oil, or moisture before entry to prevent track contamination and slipping hazards.

  4. No Structural Damage

Frames, decks, forks, or other load-bearing components must be free of cracks, bends, or other visible structural defects.

  5. Properly Installed and Secure Fasteners

All nuts, bolts, axles, and quick-release mechanisms must be properly tightened and secured. No missing hardware is permitted.

  6. Wheels and Bearings

Wheels must spin freely and show no excessive wobble or side-to-side play. Bearings must rotate smoothly and be properly lubricated.

  7. Handlebars and Steering Components

Handlebars must be securely fastened, aligned with the front wheel, and free from cracks or sharp edges. Handlebar grips or bar ends are mandatory to prevent puncture injuries.

  8. Tires and Pressure

Tires must be in good condition, free of major cuts or exposed casing, and properly inflated to manufacturer-recommended pressures. The park has pumps available if you need to top up your pressure.

  9. Pedals and Crank Assemblies

Pedals must spin freely without resistance or looseness. Crank arms must be tight and free of side-to-side movement.

  10. Decks and Grip Surfaces

Skateboard and scooter decks must have adequate grip tape or equivalent non-slip surface. No sharp edges, exposed bolts, or protruding screws are allowed.

  11. Protective Equipment Requirements

All riders must wear an approved helmet while riding. Additional protective gear such as knee pads, elbow pads, and wrist guards are strongly recommended and available for rent from the park.

  12. No Modifications That Compromise Safety
Homemade or modified parts that alter the original integrity of the equipment (such as cut-down handlebars, drilled decks, or custom brake systems) may be refused entry.

  13. Staff Inspection and Discretion

North Shore Bike Park staff reserve the right to inspect any wheeled device and deny entry or remove equipment that does not meet the above standards.

  14. Maintenance Responsibility

Riders are responsible for performing regular maintenance on their own equipment. The park does not provide mechanical services or tools for personal repair during sessions.

  15. Rental Equipment

All rental gear provided by the park is regularly maintained and inspected. Riders are required to report any issues immediately to staff.
