FOOD & BEVERAGE
MANAGER
Food & Beverage Manager / Supervisor
Part-Time | ~24 hours/week | Friday – Sunday (with occasional event shifts) | $25/hour + commission on select products | Free ride pass included
North Shore Bike Park is BC’s largest indoor bike park — a high-energy family recreation centre where thousands of kids, teens, and adults come to ride, skate, scooter, and have a blast. The Rad Café is the heart of the spectator experience: the place where parents grab a coffee, families refuel between sessions, and birthday parties get their food and drinks.
We’re looking for someone who can own this operation. Not just run the kitchen but run it like it’s yours. Someone who takes pride in a clean, well-stocked café that looks sharp and sells well. Someone who can lead a team of part-time staff, keep food safety locked down, and make sure every customer walks away happy.
The Role
This is a professional supervisory position with real ownership of the Rad Café and broader responsibility for park operations on shift. You’ll report directly to the owner and operate with a high degree of autonomy. We’re a small operation, so you’ll wear a few hats and we want someone who’s energised by that, not intimidated.
This is a sales-forward position. Your performance will be measured in part by revenue, and we're looking for someone who sees that as a motivator, not a burden.
Food & Beverage Operations
-
Manage all food prep and service at the Rad Café; hot dogs, snacks, drinks, birthday party catering, and any new menu items you help us develop.
-
Hold current FoodSafe Level 1 certification and ensure all food handling meets BC health and safety regulations at all times
-
Own inventory management: track stock levels, place orders proactively (not reactively), and minimise waste
-
Keep the café spotless, well-merchandised, and looking professional, presentation matters
Sales & Customer Experience
-
You are the face of the Rad Café and the Park as a whole. Greet every customer, upsell with enthusiasm, and make the food counter a highlight of the visit, not an afterthought
-
Drive revenue: suggest combos, promote specials, and treat every transaction as an opportunity to deliver a great experience
-
Handle customer questions and concerns with professionalism and a genuine desire to help
-
Act as the host for our birthday party service. Be present and visible with party groups, ensure families are having an amazing time, and use the opportunity to upsell food, drinks, and extras
Park Operations & Team Leadership
-
Supervise part-time staff on shift — set expectations, delegate tasks, and ensure the park runs smoothly from open to close
-
Contribute to the creation and enforcement of operating policies and procedures
-
Monitor overall customer satisfaction and step in wherever needed whether that’s helping at the front desk, tidying a riding area, or resolving an issue on the floor
-
Support the management team with event logistics, birthday party coordination, and any other operational needs that arise
Who You Are
-
You have food service experience and current FoodSafe Level 1 certification
-
You’re organised, proactive, and comfortable managing inventory and ordering without being asked
-
You’re a natural with customers, friendly, professional, and genuinely good at selling
-
You bring the maturity and reliability to lead a team with patience, clarity, and a positive attitude
-
You take pride in doing things properly, cleanliness, presentation, food safety, none of it is optional
-
You’re available to work Fridays through Sundays consistently, with flexibility for occasional weekday event shifts
-
Experience in a supervisory or management role is a strong asset
