Benefits Beyond Physical Fitness

Active recreation plays a crucial role in personal development, fostering not only physical health but also cognitive growth and team cohesion. Studies show that individuals who engage in active play demonstrate a higher willingness to collaborate, greater problem-solving skills, and enhanced creativity. Exposure to outdoor and high-energy activities builds resilience, improves focus, and nurtures community—key factors in professional and personal success.

Bringing your group to North Shore Bike Park provides a wide array of benefits that extend well beyond physical fitness. While activities like cycling, scootering, skateboarding and inline skating naturally promote strength and coordination, they also offer significant advantages for overall group dynamics:

  1. Mental Health |  It’s well known that these activities reduce stress, boosts mood, and improves focus, promoting emotional well-being.

  2. Cardiovascular Development | Cycling and skating enhance endurance and heart health, helping you build a strong cardiovascular foundation.

  3. Cognitive and Problem-Solving Skills | Tackling the park’s obstacles  sharpens decision-making, spatial awareness, and cognitive flexibility.

  4. Social Awareness and Inclusivity | The park fosters teamwork, cooperation, and inclusivity, teaching empathy, respect, and community belonging.

  5. Resilience and Risk Management | Participants learn controlled risk-taking, building confidence, resilience, and adaptability through safe exploration.

This comprehensive approach to physical activity promotes mental, social, and cognitive development, making North Shore Bike Park an excellent venue for group outings that go beyond the traditional meeting setting.

The Fine Print

  • A minimum of 20 riders is required to take advantage of this promotion. There is a maximum of 100.  Rental helmets, bikes and scooters are limited in quantity.

  • The field trip must begin between the hours of 9AM and 3PM on school days.  Later starts risk limited rental availability if the park is open to the public. Avoiding PD days of other schools or districts is strongly advised.

  • All riders, chaperones, teachers and anyone entering the terrain floor must have a signed waiver.

  • Participants may bring their own Bikes, Scooters, Skateboards, etc. They must meet our safety standards which you can find HERE.

  • Riders 7 and under must have an attendant with them at all times.

  • It is recommended that a large group maintain a 10:1 ratio of students to chaperones for everyone’s safety.

The WAIVER

All participants must have a signed waiver, signed by a guardian aged 19 or older. This can be done online and should be done so in advance. Without a waiver the rider is not eligible to ride in the park or enter the terrain area.

First Aid We always have a first aid certified attendant on site, and a first aid station is available in the park office next to reception.
